From humble beginnings can spring great things

When the first owners left our Trendwest sales office in Kirkland, Washington in October 1989, a new way of vacationing in the Pacific Northwest was born. As owners of the then-named Club Esprit, they had access to a resort collection that included one townhouse, one condominium and one hotel room at three different properties in Oregon. However, those first owners shared our vision — of adopting a lifestyle that places a high value on vacationing.

Fast forward 20 years. Club Esprit has become WorldMark, The Club and the world of vacation options available to you our owners has grown exponentially. Your resort portfolio now includes more than 70 resorts in some of your favorite locations in the Western U.S., Canada and Mexico. And your Club has grown to include approximately 270,000 owner families just like yours — families who value spending time together, exploring new destinations and making lasting memories.

While Trendwest began as a small, independent timeshare developer, today we are proud to be WorldMark by Wyndham, a member of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies. Even though this affiliation with a global hospitality company expands the vacation opportunities for all WorldMark, The Club owners, the sense of community that exists among our WorldMark, The Club owners is stronger than ever.

In the last 20 years much has changed, but one thing has remained the same: our commitment to delivering exceptional vacation experiences for you — our valued owners. For us, that travel experience begins the moment you begin planning your next trip and culminates with a memorable resort stay for each and every vacation.

In this special anniversary issue of Destinations, join us as we trace the history of your Club. We will take you back to a few of our original resort properties as well as our newest addition. Along the way, we will meet some of your fellow WorldMark, The Club owners and share memories.

Over the years, we have been honored to play a role in many of your special occasions. You have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries at our resorts. You have reunited far-flung family members at our resorts to reconnect and make memories. Many of you have made us part of your family traditions, returning to our resorts year after year. As a result, we’ve watched your children and grandchildren grow up and share the gift that is time spent together as family.

Today, as we celebrate our special anniversary together, I would like to sincerely thank you for being part of our WorldMark family. We stand ready to help you make your own vacation memories for many years to come.
