The Hastings River ends its long journey in Port Macquarie among pristine wetlands and magnificent beaches. In fact, six beaches follow the staggered coast, each with a distinct environment. The sheltered coves are perfect for swimming, and the high bluffs beg for the wide lens on your camera. The resort is located on the river and just a five-minute walk from Town Beach. The central shopping district is also nearby.

Like most coastal Australian cities, the area quickly turns into the hinterland, a region of wilderness and wallabies. The Billabong Koala Preserve is also near the resort. With the beaches, beautiful nature reserves and colorful history, Port Macquarie is a resort town with something for everyone. Dress casual and enjoy one of the best climates in Australia. Average temperatures range from 68°F - 90°F (20°C - 32°C) in summer to 46°F - 70°F (8°C - 21°C) in winter.

Billabong Park is 7 acres of beautiful landscapes gardens with easy walkways with over 50 species of Australian wildlife. View the successful breeding program at work in the new koala breeding centre, with a host of mothers and their babies. You are also able to 'pat 'the koala's.
