Resort Overview
Located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, with sweeping 180-degree views of the coastline, Marcoola Beach is the Sunshine Coast’s best-kept secret. It’s a wonderful beachfront resort with an on-site beauty salon and day spa, 60 meter lagoon-style pool, resort shop, bistro, bar, bottle shop, game room and a multitude of family attractions nearby. Discover the creatures of the deep at UnderWater World, the largest tropical Oceanarium in the southern hemisphere, or make a trip to the world famous Australia Zoo.
Marcoola boasts a quiet beach with no crowds, perfectly suited to serious surfers and avid beach walkers. A 3.5-kilometer walk west of Marcoola Beach takes you to the base of Coolum Mountain. The trek to the top is challenging but the view is definitely worth it. A world-ranked golf course is within easy reach at Coolum and there are two others within a five-minute drive. Experience some of the best scuba diving in Queensland with the man-made reef at Old Woman Island, just off the coast of Marcoola and home to the sunken HMAS Brisbane.

Popular Attractions
UnderWater World
From the moment you enter UnderWater World, be ready for anything! Take a journey to another world and get in deep as you are swept over four thrilling interactive levels. Billabongs, coral reefs, rock pools, seal cove, otter encounter — it's all there. Then head on down to the underwater Oceanarium including the world-famous 80-meter transparent tunnel. You’ll be surrounded by thousands of creatures including giant sharks and rays, as well as other fearsome animals, as you go off the deep end in the 2.5-million-liter Oceanarium.
The Australia Zoo
The Australia Zoo is a great environment for animals — it provides not only a haven for a collection of over 100 different species including the crocodile, Asian elephant, tiger and cheetah, but is also a great platform for those same animals to act as ambassadors for their cousins in the wild, giving The Australia Zoo the ability to educate the world about animal conservation and increase the chances of protecting all wildlife.
Glass House Mountains
Glass House Mountains National Park was named by Captain Cook as he mapped the Queensland coast in 1770. The “Glass Houses” are distinctive volcanic plugs which rise abruptly out of a patchwork of farms and forests, and the Glass House Mountains are spiritually significant to the local Aboriginal people. The Glass House Mountains Tourist Drive puts you almost within touching distance, while a drive to the top of the nearby Blackall Range provides a breathtaking panorama. The best vantage point is McCarthy’s Lookout on Mountain View Road, Maleny, just down the road from Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.
Brisbane
Spend a day to visit Brisbane and take a leisurely walking tour. You’ll find so much to do as you stroll the city: public art exhibits, historical sites, botanical gardens, wonderful restaurants and plenty of retail therapy.
Vineyards and Wineries of the Blackall Range
The Sunshine Coast region offers delectable, award-winning wines. Follow a wine trail and you’ll be sipping on a Chardonnay or rolling a Shiraz around your mouth on a grape-fueled adventure. There are plenty of wineries to indulge your taste buds.
