WorldMark Stories - Celebrating 20 years!
Throughout 2010 - WorldMark’s 20th year, we will be celebrating you, your owner stories, our employee stories and WorldMark, The Club’s rich history!
What better way to begin our celebration than to introduce you to our first WorldMark, The Club (formerly Club Esprit) owner!
Dave and Laurie Smith – Owner since October 1989
“Being the FIRST owner of a new timeshare concept was a little unnerving to say the least! But I knew it has success written all over it! We made the right decision and are reminded of it every time we say at a WorldMark property. What we love about being WorldMark owners is that the possibilities are endless! We can go anywhere, anytime, for the rest of our lives! It’s a canvas for memories to be made upon, whether it be a romantic getaway for my husband and me, or a family reunion, it is the ultimate gathering place!”
Favorite Activities: Skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, off-road motorcycling, snorkeling and wine tasting. We can do most of these activities at many of the WorldMark resorts.
Family Tradition: We used to spend each Easter at Park Village in Leavenworth. There was an elderly gentleman who hand-painted Easter eggs and sold them in front of one of the store fronts there. Every year I let my son and daughter pick out an egg for their collection. (And of course we hid their Easter baskets each year in the Park Village unit). My children are in their mid-20's now and still speak fondly of their Easter memories at Park Village in Leavenworth!
Resorts Visited: Leavenworth, Birch Bay, Orcas Island, Lake Chelan, Long Beach, Ocean Shores, Discovery Bay, Seattle, Whistler (Cascade and Sundance), Victoria B.C., Rancho Vistoso, AZ, Windsor, CA, Kapaa Shores, Kauai, Valley Isle, Maui, Lake Tahoe I and Lake Tahoe II, Las Vegas, Gleneden Beach, OR, Eagle Crest, Otter Crest, Los Cablos, Mexico.... I just know that I'm forgetting one!!
Owners from throughout the past 20 years…
Randy and Lori Miller – Owners since June 2001
“My Dad served in the US Air Force just after the Korean War ended. During his time overseas he stopped over in Italy for a few days on a refueling stop. It's one of the few trips that he has very fond memories and incredible pictures from. As a little girl I grew up seeing these pictures and one of my favorites was a picture of my Dad in front of Trevi Fountain. These photos inspired me to take my first international trip to Italy over 30 years from when my Dad had visited. Of course my husband and I knew we would use our WorldMark membership to get there. Lucky for us a wonderful tour came available allowing us to exchange our points for a trip that took us to Rome, Venice and Florence. I was so excited to visit all of the same locations from my Dad's pictures. Imagine walking in someone you love's footsteps with 30 plus years separatingyour visits.”
A Place to Celebrate Family: We frequently use our ownership to facilitate family gatherings and to celebrate special occasions. Staying at the WorldMark resort in Maui, so that family could fly in for my nephews wedding, using WorldMark Windsor as a central location for a family barbeque and swim day and flying to WorldMark in Las Vegas to celebrate my nieces 21st birthday. We have taken so many trips with family and friends using our WorldMark ownership that the membership his paid for itself over and over in priceless memories.
Theresa Provost – Owner since April 1999
“Having WorldMark, I no longer have to worry about how much a trip is going to cost me. Even if I don’t stay in a WorldMark resort, I still use the travel department – it can’t be compared in value, even to AAA. When we do go to the resorts, the staff is always so courteous that we never have to worry. We enjoy being able to go somewhere and not having to hassle with a “hotel” stay. When we are in a WorldMark condo we feel so at home. All the bare essentials are always provided so all we have to worry about is filling up the fridge!”
