October 10, 1989

Trendwest Resorts (now called WorldMark by Wyndham) records its first sale in Kirkland, Wash.   

Club Esprit (now called WorldMark, The Club) offers owners a limited selection of vacation options in Oregon.

1990

Trendwest debuts Excursions– a four-page quarterly newsletter which provides owners with the latest news and information updates.

Trendwest expands into Hawaii with the addition of WorldMark Valley Isle in Maui, Hawaii and opens WorldMark Lake Chelan, Wash.

1991

Trendwest introduces WorldMark Tahoe in Stateline, Nev.; WorldMark Bass Lake, Calif.; WorldMark Surfside Inn on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington; and WorldMark Kapaa Shoresin Kauai, Hawaii.

1992

Club Esprit officially rebrands to WorldMark, The Club.

Trendwest launches the first owner education program.

Trendwest debuts WorldMark Discovery Bay and WorldMark Park Village in Washington; and WorldMark Sundance in Whistler, BC.
1993

Trendwest launches the in-house travel agency – Trends in Travel.

WorldMark Pismo Beach – the first California coastal resort – enters the resort portfolio.  

1994

Trends in Travel is rebranded to Trendwest Travel (now called WorldMark by Wyndham Travel).

Trendwest opens its first Mexico resort WorldMark Coral Baja in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico as well as WorldMark Mariner Village in Ocean Shores, Wash.

1995

Trendwest unveils the Confirm First option, which enables WorldMark owners to confirm an RCI exchange before credits are deducted from their account.

Trendwest debuts WorldMark Palm Springs, Calif. and WorldMark Birch
Bay, Wash.

1996

WorldMark, The Club launches WorldMarkTheClub.com.

WorldMark Big Bear, Calif.; WorldMark Gleneden, Ore.; and WorldMark Las Vegas - Spencer Street, Nev. are introduced.  

1997

Excursions is expanded and rebranded into Destinations, the monthly magazine published exclusively for WorldMark, The Club owners, is released.

Trendwest (TWRI) goes public on the NASDAQ.

Trendwest expands to the Big Island with WorldMark Kona, Hawaii. WorldMark Running Y and WorldMark Schooner Landing in Oregon are also introduced.

1998

The first Cruise for Credits program, which offers WorldMark, The Club owners the ability to use credits to book cruises, sells out in 48 hours.

The Grouped Reservations feature is introduced and enables owners to split
their seven-night minimum stay in Red Season over different resorts.

Trendwest opens WorldMark Angels Camp and WorldMark Clear Lakein California; and WorldMark Wolf Creek in Eden, Utah.

1999

WorldMark, The Club celebrates its 10th anniversary.  

Trendwest debuts WorldMark Pinetop and WorldMark Rancho Vistoso in Arizona; WorldMark Marina Dunesin Marina, Calif.; WorldMark Bear Lake in Garden City, Utah; WorldMark Depoe Bay, Ore.; WorldMark Cascade Lodge in Whistler, British Columbia; and WorldMark Denarau Island in Fiji.

2000

Trendwest creates Trendwest South Pacific and begins to span the globe with the launch of WorldMark South Pacific Club with resorts in Australia.

WorldMark, The Club welcomes its 100,000th owner to the WorldMark, The Club family.

Trendwest debuts WorldMark, The Canadian – the first urban resort in the portfolio – in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with WorldMark Steamboat Springs, Colo.; WorldMark St. George, Utah; WorldMark Reno, Nev.; WorldMark Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, Mo.; WorldMark Arrow Point in Harrison, Idaho; and WorldMark La Paloma in Ensenada, Mexico.

2001

Trendwest unveils a new logo – combining the Trendwest paper airplane with the WorldMark namesake.

WorldMark Bison Ranch in Overgaard, Ariz.; WorldMark Kihei in Maui, Hawaii; WorldMark McCall, Idaho; WorldMark Branson, Mo.; and WorldMark Oceanside Harbor in Oceanside, Calif. are introduced.

2002

Cendant Corporation purchases Trendwest Resorts, Inc., which subsequently becomes part of Cendant Timeshare Resort Group, along with Fairfield Resorts (now called Wyndham Vacation Resorts).

WorldMarkTheClub.com begins offering owners the ability to book their vacations online.

WorldMark Las Vegas Boulevard and WorldMark South Shorein Nevada join the resort portfolio.

2003

Trendwest debuts WorldMark Dolphin’s Cove and WorldMark Windsor in California; WorldMark Galena, Ill.; WorldMark Grand Lake in Monkey Island, Okla.; WorldMark Orlando, Fla.; WorldMark Seaside, Ore.; and WorldMark Victoria in Canada.

2004

Trendwest expands the resort portfolio with the addition of two urban resorts – WorldMark The Camlinin Washington and WorldMark San Francisco, Calif. WorldMark Estes Park, Colo. and WorldMark Ocean Walk in Daytona, Fla. are also introduced. 

2005

WorldMark New Orleans, La. and WorldMark Solvang, Calif. are added to the portfolio.

2006

Cendant Corporation spins off into four separate, publicly traded companies, creating Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE: WYN). Trendwest Resorts, Inc., Trendwest South Pacific Pty. Limited and Fairfield Resorts, Inc. become part of Wyndham Worldwide.

Trendwest adds WorldMark San Diego and WorldMark Indioin California along with WorldMark Midway, Utah.

Trendwest unveils TravelShare, an exclusive membership program available to North American WorldMark owners that expands vacation options to include select Wyndham hotels and additional vacation benefits.
2007

Trendwest Resorts rebrands to WorldMark by Wyndham and Trendwest South Pacific becomes Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific.

WorldMark, The Club eclipses 250,000 owners.

WorldMark, The Club adds WorldMark Red River, N.M.; WorldMark San Diego – Mission Valley in San Diego, Calif.; WorldMark West Yellowstone, Mont.; and the WorldMark Canmore in Canada to its portfolio.

WorldMark by Wyndham launches Resort Net, which provides hi-speed Internet access at all resorts.

2008

WorldMark by Wyndham debuts WorldMark Taosand WorldMark Sante Fein New Mexico; WorldMark Las Vegas – Tropicana in Las Vegas, Nev.; WorldMark Long Beach, Wash.; WorldMark New Braunfels, Texas; and opens WorldMark Anaheim, Calif.

WorldMark by Wyndham launches Count on Me!, a Wyndham Vacation Ownership service initiative.

2009

WorldMark, The Club launches The WorldMark Charitable Giving Program, which enables owners to donate their credits to select charities.

WorldMark, The Club celebrates its 20th anniversary with more than 270,000
owners.
