Bright Lights and Spicy Dishes in the City That Never Sleeps
My husband, Ken, and I have been WorldMark, The Club owners since October 2007. We have had the opportunity to use our ownership to travel to some fantastic places; even using our exchange benefit with RCI to stay at resorts all over the country. The Residence at Snowmass Club, located in Colorado, is amazing and has become our favorite RCI affiliate resort. The accommodations are very nice and the property is conveniently located near the ski lifts, just a five minute shuttle ride away!
Recently, I had a trip of a lifetime. Last fall I was named a winner in the FAGE Total Plain Kitchen contest. Ken and I received a trip to New York, N.Y., to attend an exclusive event with famous Chef and television personality, Bobby Flay.
Prior to our arrival, the MESA Grill had been transformed into the FAGE Plain Kitchen. The event started with an introduction and welcome to the guests, then we met Chef Bobby Flay (my second time, following my first a year ago when he awarded me the winning trophy for the Meatball Madness contest judged by him live on the TODAY Show), and received a cooking lesson. With his direction, we made several amazing FAGE recipes. Afterwards, we sat down to a wonderful meal that included the following menu:

We extended our stay to sightsee and enjoy New York City. We are still in awe of the wonderful production of “Wicked” that we were able to attend on Broadway that night; the play was simply amazing!
During the next few days, we tasted and experienced some of the delights of New York City. We went to the iconic Junior's for their famous yummy cheesecake. We ate Chinese and Cuban cuisine at esteemed mid-town Manhattan restaurants. We indulged in chic people watching while sipping cocktails at the Bar of the Modern Restaurant, vastly popular with locals (judging by the crowded interior) and located next to MOMA - the Museum of Modern Art. We browsed and snacked at the famous NYC Street Fair that spans Madison Avenue between 42nd Street and 59th Street. Daily, we shopped at various stores including those with chic brand names such as Bergdorf Goodman and the bedazzling, multi-floored MACY’s store. All around Manhattan, stores showcased uniquely beautiful and visually stunning window displays that were enjoyed immensely by all, including ourselves, gawking and pointing and laughing at the magnificence of it all. And, everywhere, the sparkling lights and blazing neon of Times Square and the rest of the “City That Never Sleeps” mesmerized us and reminded us of why it is known as such.
We ended our trip on the night before our departure with drinks and dinner at the MESA Grill which, by then, had been transformed back into its regular, fabulous interior appearance. We couldn't believe its transformation from the elegant simplicity of the FAGE Plain Kitchen back to the warm and cozy atmosphere of the MESA Grill. The next few hours were splendid; it was a deliciously memorable evening and a fine ending to our thoroughly enjoyable stay in The Big Apple.
There is much to see and to do in New York; we must return soon.
